近藤さん 皆さん 今晩は。
先日ご照会した英語のメ-リングリストにモントリオ-ルストップについての質問を出した所、二日後に次の情報が寄せられました。

Dear Matsumoto - I believe the originator of the Montreal stop was Barry Haisman when he was a member of the Montreal Model Flying Club. Barry now lives in England and I saw a reference to him a year or two ago in Aeromodeller (I think), but I don't know his current address.

発明者はカナダのモントリオ-ルの模型クラブに所属していたBarry Haisman、同氏の紹介が昨年か一昨年のAeromodellerに出ている様ですから、お持ちの方チェック頂けると有り難いです。

皆さん 今晩は
モントリオールストップの発明者はカナダで決着したかと思ったらさにあらず、最初の質問か1週間後に米国側から次のコメントがありました。

In the Sept. 1989 issue of Model Aviation Sal Fruciano writes about the origin of the Montreal stop. According to him, based on photographic evidence, Loren Salisbury of the Los Angeles Thermal Thumbers invented the Montreal stop. Correspondence with Barry Haisman led to the design being published in the Montreal Newsletter.
Sal Fruciano also goes on to mention that Guido Fea of Italy was using the same system at about the same time (Zaic's earbook, 1955-1958 edition, page 109).

「ちゃんと証拠になる写真があってモントリオールストップの発明はロスアンゼルスThermal ThumbersのLoren Salisburyである。彼が(前回ご紹介した)カナダのBarry Haismanに情報を提供し、Barry Haismanが設計をモントリオールの模型クラブのニューズレターに発表した。
ほぼ同じころイタリアのGuido Feaも類似のシステムを使っており、それはZaic'sYearbook, 1955-1958に発表されている。」
と言うものです。
私は見落としていましたがZaic's Yearbook, 1955-1956にこれは載っています。1955年にヨーロッパで何度も優勝した機体でピンは一本だけですが、原理はモントリオールストップと同じトルク動作です。
